The Cherokee Nation will hold an “Understanding and Using Bonds”
workshop on Tuesday, June 9, at 6 p.m. in the tribe’s Small Business
Assistance Center located at 23205 S. Hwy 66 in Claremore. The Cherokee
Nation SBAC is sponsoring the workshop, which will be a basic introduction
to the contract bonding process and will promote self-sufficiency. The
same workshop will be repeated in Tahlequah on Tuesday, June 23 at 6 p.m.,
in the tribe’s Small Business Assistance Center located at 17675 S. Muskogee
Ave.
“The workshop is a great source of information that will allow business owners to obtain a better understanding of the differences between insurance and bonds,” said Veronica Hix, SBAC Entrepreneur Development Manager. Annette Able, Bonds Manager at Brown & Brown, will be the presenter at the workshop. Able has six years of experience in the insurance field and currently specializes in contract bonds. Topics during the workshop will include tips of the trade and how to grow your business through bonded jobs. Small business owners will be able to learn whether they need contract bonds for their business, and if so, how to get them. The workshop is open to the public and there is no cost to attend.
