The Cherokee Nation will host a Family Resource Fair on Tuesday, July 7
and Thursday, July 9, in the Talking Leaves Job Corps gymnasium located
at 5700 Bald Hill Road.
On July 7 the focus will be on services available through the tribe’s
Commerce and Career Services groups, and other related area resources.
The July 9 portion of the resource fair will offer information about
services from Cherokee Nation Health Services and Human Services groups
and their local partners.
Organizers say the Family Resource Fair is intended to help families and
individuals connect with resources to assist them with housing,
budgeting, jobs, money savings, nutrition, behavioral health and other
areas of need.
“The various Cherokee Nation Groups are reaching out to help our
citizens, employees and communities during these tough economic times,”
said Donna Tinnin of the Cherokee Nation Commerce Group. “There will be
many Cherokee Nation programs represented, as well as outside resources
we have partnered with. We encourage everyone to come see what’s
available.”
Both days will include a morning session from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and an
evening session lasting from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m. There is no charge to
attend the Family Resource Fair and it is open to everyone.
